Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and member of national executive, Yogendra Yadav (50), is likely to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from Gurgaon parliamentary constituency.
Yadav hails from Saharanwas village of Rewari district.
Sources close to the AAP leader who have been long associated with him revealed that his recent whirlwind tour to Gurgaon, Mewat and Rewari districts, which fall under Gurgaon parliamentary constituency, was the first step in this direction.
Yadav addressed public meetings at these places and exhorted people to choose AAP for a clean and honest regime and hoped for replicating Delhi's success in the state.
On the reasons behind choosing Gurgaon for contesting the election, an old-timer close to Yadav said he had been long associated with Sampuran Kranti Manch (SKM), a socio-political outfit, which had organised several public movements in the Ahir belt.
Through his social organisations, Yadav has remained a known face in the constituency much before he formally joined Arvind Kejriwal's political party.
The SKS, in which Yadav is an executive committee member, has worked in various districts to make people aware on issues like SEZ, education, Right To Information and water.

Political observers said after the victory of the AAP model in Delhi, it won't be a big task to replicate the same in the Gurgaon parliamentary constituency.
Yadav is also a senior fellow at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) since 2004, which has been founded by Rajni Kothari, a political scientist.
