Daughter-in-law of JMM chief Sibu Soren, Sita is currently admitted to VIP cottage 14 of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and till date she has not even spent a full day in the jail.

“We had only sent her for outdoor-patient department (OPD) examination,” said DK Pradhan, jail superintendent Birsa Munda Central Jail, Ranchi.

The CBI court had served a show-cause notice on the jail authorities for her without the consent of the court on February 25.

He added that she was sent for OPD at RIMS after she complained of severe chest pains and was then admitted by doctors there. “We hadn’t authorized hospitalization,” he said.

The JMM legislator was taken to RIMS after her surrender in the case on February 25, on complaint of chest pain. She continued to stay at the government hospital now on the pretext of severe pains in the spinal chord.

Sita was cured of chest pains before her first hearing on March 1and her condition was cleared by her supervising doctor, Hemant Narayan Rai, associate professor, RIMS cardiology department.

Sources said that for her spinal cord issues doctors were being called on ‘’special notice’’. They added that Sita had gone through an MRI scan on March 2 for her spinal cord issues.

“I have no idea who is the doctor of Sita Soren. She is just like another patient at RIMS,”said Director RIMS, Dr Tulsi Mahto, who also denied knowing her current condition.
