Prabhas wrote a heartfelt note on Baahubali 2 completing an year.

This time last year, the question that plagued the country was, ‘Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?’. The release of Baahubali 2 -- starring Prabhas, Rana Daggabuti and Anushka Shetty -- was a historic moment. The film broke numerous records at the box office, going on to become one of the most successful Indian films of all time, and in doing so, it also threw a spotlight on the talent in regional cinema, especially Tollywood. It gave the country a new man to crush on - Prabhas - and a director with a vision, SS Rajamouli. As the film completes one year on Saturday, actor Prabhas took to Facebook to express his gratitude to fans.

He wrote, “Our film, Baahubali 2 completes 1 year today... This day will always remain special to me. A big hug to all my fans and lots of love back to you all. Thank you for being part of this beautiful and emotional journey of mine. Congratulations and immense gratitude to SS Rajamouli and the entire team.”

On April 26, director Rajamouli visited Tokyo, Japan where he met fans and took selfies with them. He shared a short clip and wrote, “So happy to meet all the fans and film enthusiasts who made it to the #Baahubali2 screaming screening in Tokyo, Japan last night. The love for movies surpasses boundaries... Happy day.” In the clip, the Japanese fans can be seen flashing their cell phone lights and cheering loudly for Baahubali.

Karan Johar, who presented the dubbed Hindi version of Baahubali 2 also took to Twitter to express how happy he was with the association. He tweeted, “So proud to be a part of this historic Milestone of Indian Cinema!!!”

The two-film Baahubali series is a tale of two brothers - Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaladeva - and their fight to win the throne. Through betrayal, love and revenge, a new king, Mahendra Baahubali is born. He then goes on a quest to find out how his biological father Amarendra died, meets his mother Devesena, and then plots revenge on Bhallaladeva.
