Celebs talk about their best friends off screen
From keeping them grounded to giving them the reality check, celebs spill the beans on that one friend who helps them stay sane in this competitive and glamorous world of films and television
On Friendship Day, we spoke to actors to know about their best friends and the bond they share.
Shreyas Talpade
My wife Dipti is my best friend from outside the industry. The highlight and strong point of our friendship is understanding where she does the understanding part and adjusting where she does the adjusting part. I tend to take her for granted a lot of times. I think a best friend is someone you want to share things with. She is also someone who can figure out if something is wrong with me. She is the calming effect in my life, the stabilising one. Without me having to tell her everything, she understands and make sure that I do not take any rash decisions.
Swapnil Joshi
My father, Mohan Anant Joshi, has been my true friend in the real sense. I have been a mamma’s boy for the longest time. However, I rediscovered my relationship with my father starting 2006. I was going through a personal crisis and that’s when we became friends. We were always close, but we found a new perspective to our bond. We can literally discuss anything under the sun. We go out on dinners, just the two of us. I can share my deepest desires and fears with him. He understands me as a person. We connect on several levels, especially now that I am a father too. I give it to him completely for keeping up with the times and supporting me through out. Like a friend he trusts me blindly and doesn't judge me.
Jui Gadkari
My best friend is Aditi Bhadsawale. She is 6 years elder to me and we are friends for the past two decades. She is like my mum now. She has done a lot for me and I cannot describe it in words. I love her a lot.
Gauri Nalawade
My sister elder sister Kashmira. We are family but she understands me like a friend and I can share anything with her. I know she will be always there for me.
Aastad Kale
Siddharth Benninger, who we fondly call TooToo. He knows the real me. I can just be myself with him. We have been friends for 18 years and we share a great bond. We also behave as we want with each other and there is no inhibition.
