Dhanush takes The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir to Cannes
Dhanush plays a character called Ajatashatru Lavash Patel in Canadian director Ken Scott’s new film, The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir.
The ongoing Cannes film festival will see a bevy of Indian beauties descend on the red carpet at the coastal town in the French Reviera. While many Indian films are jostling for their moment under Cannes sun (with Nandita Das’ Nawazuddin Siddique-starrer Manto leading the way), Tamil heartthrob Dhanush too is there to promote his international project, The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir.
Early on May 11, Dhanush tweeted pictures from Cannes and captioned: “#cannes2018 #TheExtraordinaryJourneyOfTheFakir @LRCF6204 @kenscottfakir.”
The Hollywood film has been directed by Canadian director Ken Scott and is expected to released on May 30, 2018. The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir also stars Bérénice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi and Erin Moriarty in prominent roles. It is based on the book titled The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe, written by Romain Puertolas. The film has been shot in Mumbai, Paris, the Falklands, Spain, Rome and Libya.
In the film, Dhanush is playing a Mumbai man named Ajatashatru Lavash Patel.
An article in The Hindu had mentioned that the question-answer session with the film’s team will also be organised at the India pavilion in Marche du Cinema (Cannes Film Market).
Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently busy shooting for Maari 2. He also awaits the release of Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai, which will chronicle 30 years in the life of a gangster. Dhanush is also expected to commence work on his second directorial project from the second half of the year.
