The teaser for Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi's '96 was released on social media on Friday, just hours after the first look of the film. The teaser features Vijay travelling through different terrains—beautiful snow-capped mountains or through fierce sandstorms. From what we see in this trailer, the movie (or at least a big part of it) seems to tell a story of a single night.

We see an older Vijay meet Trisha, who encourages him to find himself. She takes him out for a makeover, convinces him to get a haircut and colour his hair and the two begin to fall in love when something that he tells her leaves her weeping in a hotel room.

This transition from a carefree and happy mood to depressing sadness, is communicated through simple visuals and beautiful music.

After Trisha's performance in her debut Malayalam film, Hey Jude, there is a lot to look forward to in '96 as well. The movie marks the first collaboration between Trisha and Vijay as well and their chemistry will be something to watch out for.

‘96 is directed by C Premkumar and is produced by Nandagopal under Madras Enterprises. The music for the film has been scored by Govind Vasantha and the release date of the film is yet to be announced.
