Hong Kong has introduced a new concept of using drones to carry flowers over to places, for Valentine's Day purpose. Hong Kong is the first to use this concept in Asia.

Now that Valentine's Day is around the corner, it's time to get creative with romance. And one Hong Kong florist is doing just that by testing drone deliveries for its bouquets.

Gift Flowers HK recently announced having conducted a test run for flower deliveries by drone, aiming to avoid the city's traffic congestion.

A clip filmed by the brand shows a drone navigating the metropolis's high-rise skyline to deliver a bunch of roses -- a strategy the company hopes may one day be a commercial reality.

The concept will not be available for some time, due to regulatory issues, but if successful, the scheme could provide an original way to show someone you care.

"Our company has tested using drones to deliver flowers to beat the heavy traffic in Hong Kong," says founder Justin Chung. "I believe we are the first in Hong Kong and Asia to try this, and although there's still a lot of work to be done before we can actually employ drones, the scheme is most heartening."
