Mending hearts: Six ways to comfort your best friend after her break up

If your bestie is going through a heartbreak, here’s how you can help her move on.
“It felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest,” writes Jennifer Lopez in her memoir, True Love about her breakup with Ben Affleck. And how true is it! This is how it feels when you part ways with the person you consider your lifeline. But breakups and makeups are a part of life. We all go through the lovey-dovey phase, making sacrifices and what not, and then comes the howling and grumbling phase of breakup. The only people who can help you get over this tormenting time are your friends. They are the best people to help deal with your heartbreak. So hey, here are a few ideas to cheer up your heartbroken bestie!

Take Her Shopping: Retail therapy is the cure for everything. Of course, your friend will be reluctant but you know this will cheer her up. Let her try the best of outfits and compliment her at every ensemble she tries.

Pamper Her At the Salon: A body massage or manicure and pedicure are the perfect way to pamper a girl or help her rejuvenate. Book a nice massage for her and let her enjoy it. You can also help her change her look with a haircut.PS: Haircuts are great for cheering you up!

Have A Girl’s Day Out Or A Pyjama Party: Some fun times with girlies is always loved. A popcorn tub and your bestie’s favourite movie at your place can be a great option. With a glass of wine or soft drink, just relax and enjoy the movie. You can call the entire girl gang and let her reminisce about old fun times with pals.

Be Careful When You Console Her: Now, the most important thing is not to say anything related to the guy. Avoid one liners such as “You’ll find someone else,” “You’re so much cuter than her,” or “He wasn’t the right one.”

It’s Time To Groove And Let Go: A drunken night with the girls is always a great start. Take her dancing and let her forget her woes. You can cheer her up with her favourite food or ice cream as well.
You just have to let her forget him and know her worth. Be the strong pillar!
