MUMBAI: Prajin Gandhi and Marven Pereira came up with the winning touch for Jamnabai Narsee ‘A’, Juhu and St Stanislaus, Bandra’s 1-0 victories against St Dominic Savio, Andheri and Bombay Scottish ’A’, Mahim respectively in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association’s boys under-16 First Division football league at the MSSA ground, Azad Maidan, on Monday.

RBI CLINCH DIV 2 TITLE

Reserve Bank of India emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over Rebels in the Mumbai Hockey Association’s Second Division final at the Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate. In the first half, Gurmeet Singh and Prem Singh got RBI 2-0 up before Rebels drew level with goals from Jonathan D’Souza and Arthur Castelino. RBI struck the winner through a penalty stroke that was converted by Rahul Singh.

Abdul Dondwala scored twice as Tarun Sporting thrashed YMCA SC 4-1 in the Mumbai District Football Association’s second division league at the St Xavier’s ground on Monday. The winners got the other goals through Suman Bose and Ajinkya Umasare, while Sajid Sabir netted one for YMCA.

ABHIJIT, RADHIKA BEST

Unseeded Manoj Kamble stunned top seeded Yogesh Pardesi 7-25, 25-10, 25-8 in the 14th Muktar Ahmed Memorial Trophy Prize Money Carrom Tournament on Monday.

In the boys’ final, Abhijit Bagade defeated Siddhant Wadvalkar 0-25, 25-14, 25-8 while third seeded Radhika Joshi overcame Nandita Mahajan 5-25, 25-5, 25-11 in the girls’ final.
