Indian ace Mahesh Bhupathi and his partner Mark Knowles moved into the quarterfinals of the euro 2,270,000 Madrid Masters when their opponents handed them a walkover in the second round match.

Bhupathi and Knowles of Bahamas were up against the Spanish pair of Rafael Nadal and Carlos Moya, who opted out of contest due to a lower back injury to world number one Nadal.
The fourth seeded Bhupathi and Knowles had also got a bye in the first round.
Third seeded Indo-Czech pair of Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy will play their second round match against Spanish wild card pair of Pablo Andujar and Marcel Granollers.
