Blackburn Rovers set to tour India

Owners of Premier League club Blackburn Rovers, Indian poultry giants Venky's, will bring a host of first team players down to the country and the likes of Morten Gamst Pedersen, Michel Salgado and Brett Emerton will play alongside youngsters as part of their four-city under-16 football tournament. Owners of Premier League club Blackburn Rovers, Indian poultry giants Venky's, will bring a host of first team players down to the country and the likes of Morten Gamst Pedersen, Michel Salgado and Brett Emerton will play alongside youngsters in the country as part of their four-city under-16 football tournament.

The Blackburn Rovers team will arrive in India on July 23. The tournament will be held in Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata and Pune.

The tournament is open to registered institutions, schools, academies and clubs with under-16 teams. Qualifying matches will happen in each of the four cities, and the winners of the qualifiers will travel to Pune for the final matches on July 23.

The qualifying matches will be held in Goa on July 8-9, Mumbai on July 11-12, Kolkata on July 16-17 and Pune on July 21-22.
