Bopanna, who had inflamed his left knee last week, failed to turn up for Wednesday's practice session.

The world No. 325 Bopanna, however, told the reporters he would be ready for the tie.

“I went for an MRI scan last evening and got diagnosed with tendonitis,” he said. “I stayed away from today’s session because it will help me recover. I will come out tomorrow and I am hopeful I will be ready for the tie.”

On the other hand, Mankad who has been practicing hard and has recently won an ITF title in Chandigarh, said he was ready to play his first match of Davis Cup after three years.

“It is yet to be decided whether I play or not. But if I am picked I am all set to do my best,” said Mankad, who returned to tennis last November after a knee injury.
