Manchester City have signed Bulgaria winger Martin Petrov from Atletico Madrid for 4.7 million pounds ($9.64 million), the Premier League club said on Thursday.
The move is subject to the 28-year-old Petrov, who has agreed a three-year deal and has passed a medical, being granted a work permit. Petrov, capped over 60 times by Bulgaria and with previous spells at CSKA Sofia, Servette and VfL Wolfsburg, is new manager Sven-Goran Eriksson's fourth signing since the Swede took charge at Eastlands earlier this month.
Eriksson has also signed Italian striker Rolando Bianchi from Reggina, Brazilian midfielder Geovanni and Swiss under-21 captain Gelson Fernandes.
