“It could be more than five and a final decision will be arrived at by Thursday afternoon,” an AIFF emergency committee member said on Wednesday.

Another member said 10-12 applications for the general secretary’s post could be shortlisted and some six or seven of those seeking to be the first CEO.

Once the lists are complete, the applicants would be sent letters stating terms and conditions of employment and if they agree would be called for interviews by the AIFF emergency committee, the official said.

That apart, the committee authorised Alberto Colaco to mediate in the Bhaichung Bhutia-Mohun Bagan imbroglio. “It will now be his (Colaco) task and not the Players Status Committee (PSC) to mediate between Bhutia and Mohun Bagan and find an amicable solution,” said AIFF working president Praful Patel.
