Kvitova, the world number 18, swept aside Daniela Hantuchova 6-4, 6-2 in 67 minutes in the first of Sunday's reverse singles.

The left-handed Czech team won both singles on Saturday as Lucie Safarova beat Hantuchova 7-5, 6-1 and Kvitova thrashed Dominika Cibulkova 6-2, 6-3.

"I hope the Czech team will go for it. We have a strong and well balanced team capable of playing against anyone," said Kvitova, whose team will play either Belgium or the USA in the semi-finals. Belgium was 2-0 up after day one on Saturday.

The Czechs now have a perfect 4-0 record over the Slovak Republic, having met in 2000, 2007 and 2008.

The two nations played under the same flag as Czechoslovakia before the country split in 1993.
