Roger Federer continued his smooth progress through the Wimbledon draw with a 6-4 6-2 6-4 win over his old rival David Nalbandian in the third round on Saturday.

The Swiss third seed, bidding for a record-equalling seventh title, outclassed his Argentine opponent who had beaten him eight times in their previous 18 matches.
