Fiery Vaidisova focuses on her emotions

Her forehand is said to be her biggest weapon and her serve is no powder-puff, but statuesque Czech Nicole Vaidisova is working on developing another lethal weapon in her armoury.

"I am very emotional," the 12th seed told reporters after reaching the Australian Open fourth round on Friday.

"Sometimes it's to my advantage. A lot of times to my disadvantage. So will just have to put it in a more of positive way, I guess," she smiled.

The 18-year-old blonde has long given up trying to control the emotional side of her nature and is instead determined to channel it into her tennis.

"I can't be something I'm usually not," she said after beating Japan's Ai Sugiyama.

"So I just have to try to more put the emotions in a positive way. I mean, I'm always gonna be an emotional player. That's nothing that's gonna change ever. It's just the way I am."
