Former French football star Zinedine Zidane will hold a football clinic for children on Sunday in Vienna, before watching the quarterfinal between Spain and Italy, his sponsors said on Saturday.
Zidane will teach children some of his skills in a so-called “Predator Clinic” in the city-centre fan zone around noon, as part of an event organised by his sponsor, German sportswear maker Adidas.
The Frenchman, who infamously head-butted Italy defender Marco Materazzi during the 2006 World Cup final in Berlin, was then to attend the quarterfinal at the Ernst Happel stadium, Adidas spokesman Gregor Almassy said.
Kovac ponders retirement
CROATIA CAPTAIN Niko Kovac hinted he was likely to hang up his international boots after their astonishing Euro 2008 quarter-final defeat by the tournament’s surprise package Turkey on Friday.
“I’ll give my decision a night’s sleep to make it with a clear head but there are younger lads out there ready to take over,” said the 36-year old defensive midfielder.
“I said before the tournament I was more likely to retire after Euro 2008 than carry on and I haven’t changed my mind.”

Munich: France International Franck Ribery, who underwent surgery on his injured left ankle this week, should return to competition in September, his club Bayern Munich said on Saturday.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who suffered a severely twisted ankle in the eighth minute of the 2-0 Euro 2008 Group D defeat by Italy, underwent surgery on Thursday.
