Ozbay earns East Bengal full points

Tolgay Ozbay scored late in the second half as East Bengal struggled past ONGC 1-0 in their opening I-League match in Kolkata on Saturday. Debutants ONGC gave a good first-day-first-show.

“You have to take into account the fatigue in the team. There are tired legs and tired minds but nevertheless, we won. Whether we score in the 83rd minute or the 89th minute is not important. Getting three points is,” said East Bengal coach Trevor James Morgan.

Not being able to score for more than 80 minutes started to weigh on East Bengal. The winner came in the 84th minute with the Australian recruit Ozbay earning the red-and-gold brigade the crucial three points.
