'Ribery's injury not severe'

Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery has pulled a knee ligament but the injury is not as bad as originally feared, the club said today. The France international will miss training for the next five days to rest the injury.

Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery has pulled a knee ligament but the injury is not as bad as originally feared, the club said on Sunday.

The France international will miss training for the next five days to rest the injury.

Ribery, who limped off in Saturday's 1-1 draw at VfL Wolfsburg, has been diagnosed with a capsule ligament strain in his left knee, a club spokesman said.

Ribery had returned to the side in mid-November after sustaining a serious injury to his right ankle which sidelined him for a lengthy period in the autumn.
