Three Indians — Karunuday Singh, Ranjeet Virali Murugesan and Vijay Sundar Prasanth — progressed to the second round of the men’s singles event of the ITF Futures tournament in Chennai on Monday.
While Ranjeet steamrolled Saurabh Patil 6-1, 6-0, Vijay saw off Kaza Vinayak Sharma 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Karunuday overcame a second set lapse to beat Yu Chang of China 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
In the men’s singles final qualifying round, Summet Shinde retired hurt in the match against Rithvik Anand while Sidharth Rawat sailed through 6-2, 6-3 against U M Gugan Verma.
