Apart from this, users are getting the option to share only audio of duration up to 30 seconds in a status. To share a longer recording, you'll need to post multiple status updates. You'll be able to control who can hear the updates you share in your status and which contacts they'll be shown in your privacy settings.
WhatsApp has said that end-to-end encryption will be applicable for voice status updates just like the chats and calls. This encryption means that no third party app in between or even WhatsApp itself can access the content of voice status recordings other than users sharing and viewing the status. However, in case of any objectionable status, users can report it and the platform will review it.
