Amit Panghal defeated reigning Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov to claim the gold medal in 49kg boxing at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta on Saturday. The 22-year old Panghal looked in brilliant form throughout the bout and in the end, he was able to clinch the encounter by split decision (3-2). Amit, making his debut at the Games, showed immense tactical brilliance, especially in defence to outwit the Uzbek, who has an iconic status in international boxing.
