Amitabh Bachchan also known as Big B and the ‘Shahenshah’ of Bollywood was born in Allahabad, UP. He was born to Teji Bachchan, a social activist and Harivansh Rai Bachchan, a poet. Amitabh forayed into Bollywood in the 1970s and soon gained popularity for movies like Zanjeer, Deewaar and Sholay. With his serious roles in various films, landed him the title of India’s “angry young man”. He is the recipient of several awards like Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award, the Padma Shri, the Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan. He is married to Jaya Bachchan.
