Asha Bhosle was born into the musical family. She is daughter of Deenanath Mangeshkar and Shevanti. After her father died, she began singing and acting in films. Her first song was Chala Chala Nav Bala from the film, Majha Bal. She made her Hindi film debut when she sang the song, Saawan Aaya. She sang many songs like, Radha Kaise Na Jale, Sharara, Kabhi To Nazar Milao and Sapne Mein. She is the recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan. She also holds the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most-recorded artist in the history of music.
