The three assailants had also submitted counterfeit Aadhaar cards to stay at a hotel. The police have added the IPC section for committing fraud to the FIR lodged against them.
A man was arrested for killing a 60-year-old Hapur resident in January allegedly to steal money using his ATM card after he refused to give him a ?1 lakh loan. The suspect has been identified as Somveer Singh, and his accomplice, Sonu Singh, is on the run. They buried the victim's body in a farm in Kapoorpur.

The assailants drove around with the victim for five hours before dumping him and withdrawing money from his account. Two pistols, two motorcycles, cash, and a stolen iPhone were recovered.
