The PM SVANidhi scheme was promulgated on June 1, 2020, to empower street vendors who were reeling under losses incurred during the coronavirus pandemic. It intends to facilitate collateral-free working capital loans of up to Rs 10,000 for one year to approximately 50 lakh street vendors.

Centre allows up to 74% FDI in defence sector under automatic route

As per the current FDI policy, 100 per cent overseas investments are permitted in the defence industry -- 49 per cent under the automatic route, while beyond that government approval was required.
