After 35 years on the run, man wanted in assault case arrested

Police in Mumbai arrested a man who had been evading arrest for 35 years after assaulting someone in 1989. Chikku Badal Prasad Yadav, 56, was arrested at a relative's house in Jogeshwari, and was surprised to be cuffed after walking into a police trap. After skipping the trial, Yadav had settled in a village near his hometown in Balrampur, and avoided electronic devices to make it more difficult for the police to trace him. Yadav has been remanded in 14-day judicial custody.
