UP govt increases monthly allowance of medical interns to Rs 12,000

The increase in the allowance has been effected by the state government after a period of 10 years. The Uttar Pradesh CMO informed this through a tweet.

The Centre has a separate pool of MBBS/BDS seats, from which some are allotted to select states and Union territories (UTs), ministries and government departments that nominate their own candidates.

MBBS, BDS admissions: SC upholds HC order on micro-quota in Punjab’s private medical colleges

The apex court held that the micro-reservation of 1% in MBBS and BDS courses for children/grandchildren of persons affected by terror and anti-Sikh riots will be applicable to the state quota as well as management quota in all private unaided non-minority medical/dental institutions, as was ruled by HC on July 26.

Maharashtra gets fewer applications for MBBS, BDS; experts blame rules

This year, 58,574 students registered for the centralised admission process (CAP) for 10 UG health science courses, compared to 59,757 aspirants last year. As many as 8.5% of the total number of students have applied under the socially and educationally backward classes (SEBC) category, while 4.2% belong to economically weaker sections (EWS).
