PM Modi attends COP 28 in Dubai, meets with world leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met UAE President Mohammed Bin Zayed and UN Secretary General Antonio Gutterus at the COP 28 Summit in Dubai. "Glad to join the COP-28 Summit, a pivotal platform for global climate action…" PM Modi wrote on X sharing a picture of him holding hands with Zayed and Gutterus. This is PM Modi's third appearance at the World Climate Action Summit after his visits to Paris in 2015 and Glasgow in 2021.

More evacuations as wildfires race through Spain's Tenerife

More people were evacuated from their homes on Saturday morning on the Spanish island of Tenerife as a wildfire raging in the north of the island remained out of control. A blaze broke out earlier this week in a mountainous national park around the Mount Teide volcano, Spain's highest peak, amid hot and dry weather. The flames have so far avoided major tourist areas.
