Antarctica's lost world: Ancient landscape formed by rivers revealed under ice

An illustration shows how a landscape the size of Belgium located in Wilkes Land, East Antarctica would appear if the thick ice sheet covering it were lifted away. The landscape was discovered by scientists who used airborne ice penetrating radar measurements and satellite observations.
