India competed against Bangladesh and time and beat both as they recorded a seven-wicket win in the second Test. This is despite two and a half-days of the match being washed off and the pitch not having too many demons in them. Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep followed up on the utterly astonishing work done by the batters in India's first innings on Day 4. Yashasvi Jaiswal then scored his second half-century of the match as India chased down the target of 95 and won the match with more than a session to spare.
A rain-stricken first day had to be ended just nine overs into the second session with Bangladesh batting on 107/3 in 35 overs. Mominul Haque was at the crease on 40 off 81 balls while Mushfiqur Rahim was at the other end on six off 13.
Ravichandran Ashwin wrecked Bangladesh claiming 6-88 and bowling India to a comprehensive 280-run victory inside four days in the opening test for a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
Virat Kohli scored his 48th ODI century and hit the winning runs for India with a six as the hosts recorded a dominant 7-wicket win over Bangladesh to make it four wins out of four matches in the 2023 World Cup.
