250 people stranded in Rajasthan school due to floods

Heavy rainfall has flooded swathes of the state in Kota, Jhalawar, Baran and Bundi districts. It forced the release of excess water from the Kota barrage and flooded low-lying areas along the banks of the Chambal, officials said.

26-year-old man killed over loud music in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar

Centre dismisses IPS officer from service for second marriage before divorce

The Centre has dismissed a 2009 batch Rajasthan cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officer for remarrying a decade earlier without divorcing his first wife. Pankaj Kumar Chaudhary, 44, the officer, was last posted as the commandant of a police training school in Jhalawar.

Eight-year-old Dalit girl ‘raped’, murdered in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar

Rajasthan assembly polls: In her poll fortress Jhalarapatan, Vasundhara Raje on winning run since 2003

From 2003 onwards, Vasundhara Raje has not lost from Jhalarapatan assembly constituency. In the last Rajasthan assembly polls held in 2013, she registered her biggest victory from the seat, defeating Congress candidate Meenakshi Chandrawat by a big margin of over 60,000 votes.
