Truck runs over people at Kashmere Gate, two dead

The deceased civil defence volunteer, who was on the scooter, was identified as 34-year-old Vehram Khan. Police said the identity of the dead homeless man could not be ascertained till late evening.

As interstate bus services resumed in Delhi after more than seven months, the scene at the city’s two major bus terminals (ISBTs), at Kashmere Gate and Anand Vihar, were in stark contrast. While Kashmere Gate had mostly all Covid-19 safety mechanisms in place, the latter was in disarray.

Cluster bus driver involved in two accidents, one of them fatal, held for driving drunk

Police have arrested the driver of a cluster bus that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in north Delhi’s Kashmere Gate on October 1, after their probe and eyewitness accounts revealed that the 45-year-old driver was allegedly drunk at the time of the accident.
Police said they questioned scores of potential eyewitnesses and checked the GPS data of multiple cluster buses to zero in on the errant driver, identified as Pardeep alias Nagraj, who had fled the scene of accident.(File photo for representation)

2 dead after their motorcycle skids over chemical on road in north Delhi
