Massive fire breaks out in Mumbai locality. Video

Around four fire engines have been rushed to the location and no injuries have been reported so far, according to an official.

The fire was reportedly caught at 8:15 pm and the cause has not been ascertained so far.(HT)

Video: Fire at high-rise building in Mumbai's Lower Parel area

The Mumbai Fire Brigade also said that had the building's firefighting system started automatically - as it should have - the fire could have been control sooner.

Some reports indicate the fire - a Level 1 blaze - is on the 14th floor of the One Avighna Park building, while others say it is on the 22nd.

Mumbai fire: Aaditya Thackeray visits site; Centre, state to pay damages

Mumbai fire: The blaze on the 19th floor of the highrise erupted around 7am and was brought under control around 12.25pm. Each floor of the highrise has at least six flats. Six succumbed to their injuries while 23 are being treated.

Toll in Kamala Building fire in Mumbai's Tardeo rises to 6

Fifteen of the injured were admitted to Bhatia Hospital, while four were sent to Nair Hospital. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that six people needed oxygen support system because they had inhaled the smoke. The fire started at 7.38am and was brought under control after five hours.
