Tourist visas to be issued from October 15: MHA

“Once the demand for tourist visas picks up, regular commercial flights will also start operating,” said a senior ministry official not wishing to be named.

Centre gears  up to resume issuing tourist visas after 1.5 years

  • Tourist visas are suspended since March 2020, from the day the first lockdown was announced. Later, several categories of visas like business, employment and others were exempted but tourist visas remained suspended.

Govt bans issuing tourist visa to foreign Tablighi activists

The decision was taken after it was found that about 2,100 foreigners have come to India since January 1 and indulged in Tablighi activities in different parts of the country.
