Tripura cops start questioning 2 women journalists after court gives them bail

Tripura information and cultural affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury claimed the two journalists were “agents” of a political party.

2 women journalists, arrested for reporting on Tripura violence, granted bail

Tripura police book 102 social media accounts under UAPA after violence

The move came after four Delhi-based advocates were booked under UAPA and some other charges of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly sharing fake information on social media.
A case was lodged in this regard at West Agartala Police Station under Section 153A, 153B, 469,471,503,504,120B of the Indian Penal Code and Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. (AFP)

Tripura Police arrest 10 people accused of gang-raping a minor girl

The incident took place on July 21. The minor was offered a lift in a car by a resident of her village. He and four others present in the vehicle took her to a forest and gang-raped her.

Suspected ATM hacker found dead in Tripura police’s custody

Over Rs. 10 lakhs were stolen from different bank accounts including from State Bank of India (SBI) in four days in November. The SBI received as many as 50 complaints of ATM thefts. So, as precautionary measures, the bank blocked several ATM and debit cards of its customers.

32-year-old woman kidnapped and gang-raped in Agartala, 6 suspects arrested

Police said that the woman was travelling from a hospital t o her residence in auto-rickshaw at around 9 pm. But the auto-rickshaw driver took her to a different place instead where she was allegedly gang raped.
