Mumbai: Woman dies after crane rams Metro pillar on highway

According to officials, the crane was being taken to the Metro site along the Western Express Highway when it lost control and rammed into the pillar.

In rain-related mishaps, at least 10 cars were damaged in wall collapse incidents at Ghatkopar, Andheri and Sion, while a balcony of a dilapidated residential building in Kurla came crashing down. No injuries reported were reported from any of the locations. Over 110 trees were reported to have fallen across Mumbai and Thane.

In Goregaon suburb of north-west Mumbai, four persons of a family including a minor girl suffered electrocution from some live wires in the vicinity of their home in which two perished and two were injured.

While track-laying for Metro-7 started on Sunday, work on Metro-2A had begun earlier in the week.
When the car reached WEH, towards Andheri, the speeding SUV came from the adjacent SIBA road and crashed into the car on its left side.
