A disturbing video doing the rounds on social media shows a woman being brutally assaulted by a few other women in St. Johns, Michigan. Police have launched an investigation as Audrey Masarik has come forward as the victim, saying in a social media post that she was pregnant when she was dragged by a group of women and beaten up.
The three women seen in the video have not been officially identified, but their names have surfaced in social media posts.
Who is Audrey Masarik?
Masarik’s Facebook profile says she is from St. Johns, Michigan. According to her statement and other social media posts, she was pregnant when she was attacked but later gave birth to a healthy baby.
Masarik’s own public statement says she had been drinking and was severely intoxicated when the attack took place. She said that when she came to the hospital, testing showed a blood-alcohol level approximately three times the legal driving limit.

Masarik said that after she was beaten, police responded to the apartment and that she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. She said she woke up with a swollen eye, a scrape on her face, what appeared to be a “goose egg” on the side of her head and marks around her waist. She said she has epilepsy and claimed that she suffered a seizure at the hospital following the blows to her head.
Masarik also said that she was almost unconscious when medical personnel treated her. A pregnancy test administered after the attack came back positive.

{{/usCountry}}Approximately two weeks later, Masarik welcomed a baby girl, who said changed her life. She does not drink anymore, and is now trying to pursue charges against her attackers.

St. Johns Police Department - Michigan acknowledged the video doing the rounds on social media.
“The St. Johns Police Department is aware of a social media post containing a video depicting an assault. The video has been widely shared across social media platforms, resulting in numerous calls, messages, and tips being submitted to the St. Johns Police Department,” the police statement said. “All individuals involved in the incident have been identified. Once this investigation is complete, the case, along with all relevant evidence, including available video footage, will be submitted to the Clinton County Prosecutor's Office for review and a determination regarding any potential criminal charges.”
It added, “At this time, no additional information will be released while the case is under prosecutorial review. The St. Johns Police Department would like to thank the many members of our community, as well as individuals from outside the area, who provided information, tips, and messages regarding this incident. Your assistance and cooperation are appreciated.”
