St. Johns viral assault video: What happened, what the alleged victim said and police response

A video allegedly showing a woman being assaulted at an apartment in St. Johns, Michigan, has gone viral on social media, prompting a police investigation into an incident that reportedly occurred in November 2025.
The St. Johns Police Department said it is investigating the footage and that all individuals involved have been identified. Police said the case, along with available video evidence, will be submitted to the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office once the investigation is complete.
What does the viral video show?
The video appears to show a woman lying on a bed while several people surround her. She appears to be severely impaired or largely unresponsive as those around her make threatening remarks, laugh and record the incident.
The footage also appears to show someone pulling the woman by her hair and striking her. At one point, she can be heard screaming. The people around her then appear to cover her with a blanket and press it down.
Separate footage appears to show the woman being dragged upstairs while seemingly unconscious or barely responsive.
The incident reportedly took place in November 2025, but the footage began circulating widely on social media this week.

What did Audrey Masarik say?
A woman identifying herself as Audrey Masarik said in social media comments that she was the person shown in the video.
Masarik alleged that she was taken to a hospital following the incident and suffered several injuries. She also said she had been heavily intoxicated at the time and has epilepsy, which she said increased the potential danger to her health.
According to Masarik, she did not initially pursue charges because she said she had little or no memory of what happened. She said the circulation of the video has since prompted her to seek legal advice about pursuing the matter.
Masarik also said she has since stopped drinking and recently became a mother.
Her account has not been independently verified by HT.com, and the police investigation remains ongoing.
Have the people in the video been identified?
Several names, including Rylee Blackwell, Daphne Ordiway and Brooklyn Morence, have circulated widely on social media in connection with the video. The woman who identified herself as the alleged victim also referenced one of those names in her comments about the incident.
However, the St. Johns Police Department has not publicly confirmed or released the identities of anyone allegedly involved. The names circulating online should therefore be treated as unverified.

The St. Johns Police Department said it became aware of the video after it was widely shared online and received numerous calls, messages and tips from members of the public.
Police said, "All individuals involved in the incident have been identified. Once this investigation is complete, the case, along with all relevant evidence, including available video footage, will be submitted to the Clinton County Prosecutor's Office for review and a determination regarding any potential criminal charges."
The department said it would not provide further information while the case is under prosecutorial review.
"The St. Johns Police Department would like to thank the many members of our community, as well as individuals from outside the area, who provided information, tips, and messages regarding this incident. Your assistance and cooperation are appreciated."
