Two Shahid Kapurs in one!
Okay, so there are two Shahid Kapurs in this one. One of them lisps and the other stutters. There’s Priyanka Chopra in a kothe-like place and dudes with whacko names like Tashi, Bhope bhau, blah blah. The promo ends with Kapur trying desperately to explain that he pronounces “Ffff” as “Ffff”.. obviously he doesn’t get the “S”. Fo cute!
Akshay Kumar stares hard at a photograph and nearly passes out. Sharmila Tagore says it happens to him all the time. Turns out Kumar can get into a snapshot and relive the moment. In between a cruise, a meeting with a sceptical Javed Jaffrey, a screaming Ayesha Takia and jumping into a river, Kumar says, “I have a secret.” Almost expect him to add, “I see dead people!”
A wailing baby is passed on from one man to another in a village. Pails of milk are emptied into one large tank. The last man holds the infant high before demanding a “boy” the next time.. and lowers it into the tank. Looks as if these guys specialise in disturbing social sagas.
The classic sweet-as-aspartame girl next-door. She smiles and smiles, splashes water on her face, caresses rose petals. But the sweet little miss is on a wheelchair. And that’s not the end of her troubles. Someone’s clicking her picture, testing her blood and conducting experiments. A bespectacled guy wants to steal her face from her.. why? He doesn’t like his?
A man’s voiceover about his darling daughter booms in the background as we look into a child’s bedroom. Dolls, a child’s drawing, stuffed toys and a cradle. And then a hand picks up the desi Barbie doll complete with sari and jewellery and sighs that she’ll be known as his ‘laadli.’ Spare us!
