Balika Vadhu’s Anandi to finally divorce Jagya

Writer Purnendu Shekhar explains, “Being the traditional Indian wife, it was tough for Anandi to cut off from Jagya (her husband). Dadisa who earlier had a conventional mindset, now has realised that it was unjust to her and took this life-altering step. As Anandi has loved Jagya always, it will be tough for her to part from him permanently. But she will be free to make decisions about her own life and move forward. Dadisa wants Anandi to be happy and marry someone else.”

While the character Anandi tries to cope with this life-altering decision, the actor who plays her, Pratyusha Banerjee, is also trying to come to grips with it. “It won’t be easy for Anandi to deal with the circumstances but she will do as the family wishes. It is a big decision.”

Actor Surekha Sikri, who plays Dadisa, admits it is a huge step in the story. She says, “Since Gauri’s entry, Dadisa has mellowed towards Anandi and even supported her education, being a sarpanch and a teacher. She has changed and seen Anandi’s loneliness. Now she wants Anandi to move on, instead of waiting for Jagya.”

Sources say that in the upcoming episodes, Jagya’s life will be affected, as his career that is already in the doldrums will face more roadblocks. Anandi was his lucky charm and after the divorce, Jagya’s downfall will begin. His wife Gauri will be successful in her career, which will lead to trouble between them. Anandi, on the other hand, will try to make sense of her life while her family will look out for the right man for her. The channel Colors will finalise a suitable actor for the role in a week’s time.
