Actor Aneri Vajani waited for almost a year to come back to the small screen.

Actor Aneri Vajani’s lead role as Nisha in the hit daily Nisha Aur Uske Cousins got her the popularity she always wanted. After the show wrapped up in August 2015, she took a break. The actor says she didn’t want to take up a mediocre project for the heck of it.

“I didn’t want to take up work out of desperation. I wanted to be choosy. So, I decided to wait and not choose a saas bahu kind of show,” says the actor, who will now feature in the show Beyhadh. Does that mean doing regular soaps is a strict no for her? “May be, I will take up later in life but right now I am not ready for such shows. That is something I was sure of when scripts came to me, so I waited for a good script to come my way,” she says.

In her previous show, Vajani’s role was that of a tomboy, but she now wants to get rid of that image. “My fans have loved me as Nisha but I wanted to break that tomboy role. If they have loved me there, they will love me here also,” she says.
