The bittersweet story of 11 women on NDTV Imagine is on its way out. Ek Packet Umeed was reportedly turning into a daily.. like the other weekly shows on the channel.

Artiste issues
Producer JD Majethia says that the channel had approached Hats Off to start shooting for Ek Packet... as a daily but this wasn’t possible. “There were hassles with artistes’ dates and other problems,” he says.
Rupali Ganguly who plays one of the leads says budgetary constraints may have come in the way. Will it be revived again? “You never know,” grins the actress, who was previously seen in 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai', another Hats Off production.
The show revolves around the lives of 11 women who live together after their unfortunate pasts. Majethia says it hasn’t worked probably because it was ahead of its time: “It looks as if women themselves prefer watching conventional stuff.”
Seasonal change
Shailaja Kejriwal, programming head says that all the weekly hour-long shows on the channel will have seasons: “Ek Packet Umeed has reached a logical conclusion in its first season.”
