Gautam Rode: Regular shows do not excite me as an actor anymore

TV actor Gautam Rode talks about what goes on in his mind when picking a show, and why he sometimes wishes to be away from the limelight.

Gautam Rode, like every ambitious actor, hopes to be part of great projects that win audiences’ hearts. But, he admits that’s not always possible, and also “normal scripts” do not excite him anymore.

Actor Gautam Rode will soon be seen in a Bollywood film.

“Good shows have to get made in the first place... The regular ones don’t excite me as an actor but at the end of the day, I have to work to earn my bread and butter,” says Gautam, who has done TV shows such as Saraswatichandra, Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasya, Ek Kahani and Suryaputra Karn.

The actor is also cautious to not be in the public glare all the time. “I’ve worked hard for four and a half years and I did not stop at all, so it has been a hectic journey for me. People also get tired of seeing you, so you have to just take a little break. The audience should want to know where you are,” says Gautam.
