Actor Kratika Sengar Dheer wants to stay away from melodramatic roles on the small screen. She has been a part of shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Jhansi Ki Rani and Punar Vivah.

Television actor Kratika Sengar Dheer has been part of the industry for almost a decade now and says that she is on the lookout for different roles. The actor, who has been part of shows such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Jhansi Ki Rani and Punar Vivah, says she won’t take up roles which require her to cry on screen.

“I won’t do any more rona-dhona roles from now on. I feel I have cried a lot on screen for so many years and now I want to stay away from that. I want to take up something different now,” says Kratika, who is currently seen in the show, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, which also stars Ssharad Malhotraa and Renee Dhyani.

However, the actor says that the audience is yet to accept new content on television. “There are some channels that are trying out new content. These shows have new and fresh stories. The trend on TV is changing and along with this, there are web series too. But the audience needs to get used to these stories,” she says.

The actor, who has been a part of the industry for a decade now, adds, “I’ve been in this industry for ten years now and the journey has been great. While choosing shows, I look at stories and the concept and that has to be different.”

Talking about ratings, Kratika says that although ratings matter to her, she has never given them too much importance. “TRP ratings affect me. There are times when the ratings are so low that we feel that we could have done something more. But that is about it. I don’t stress over it too much,” she says.
