Intolerance is like babaji ka thullu, it means nothing: Kapil Sharma

Dismissing intolerance as just a word, Kapil Sharma said on Tuesday that it should be laughed at. He likened the word to his famous phrase ‘babji ka thullu’.

Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma denied prevalence of “intolerance” in the country on Tuesday, saying it was just a “word” popularised by social media trolls and individuals “who have no work to do”. He advised laughing at intolerance.

“...see, it’s just a word. Had you heard about this word earlier? I think it has been made famous by these social media trolls and the news that follows it,” Kapil said. He also asked people to make fun of intolerance, saying it was identical to his famous one-liner “babaji ka thullu”.

“I am telling you, make fun of this word (intolerance),” Kapil said. “People should not take everything so seriously. There needs to be a scope for humour -- healthy humour.”

Asked what he defined healthy humour as, the Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon actor said: “A kind of humour that doesn’t compel your parents to flip channels while watching TV with you.”
