Amazon has released a new trailer for Jack Ryan, their lavish new reboot of the novel series by Tom Clancy. Featuring John Krasinski as the titular CIA analyst-turned-operative, the show will act as an origin story, tracing Ryan’s ascension from being a desk jockey to getting involved in an international terrorism plot.
Here’s the official synopsis: “When CIA analyst Jack Ryan stumbles upon a suspicious series of bank transfers, his search for answers pulls him from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East, with a rising terrorist figurehead preparing for a massive attack against the US and her allies.”
The series is Amazon’s biggest yet, and is designed to lead the online streaming service into a more ambitious future.
