Karan Wahi on Bollywood films: You don’t become successful overnight; it takes time

Actor Karan Wahi talks about being heartbroken, as there is still uncertainty regarding the release of his second film.

Ever since Karan Wahi was seen playing an important role in the 2014 film Daawat-e-Ishq, fans were of the opinion that he will be seen doing more films. But, the actor feels that it takes time to find foothold in every field that you are a part of.

“Be it TV or Bollywood, you need to work hard to create your own space and niche. Having worked in Daawat-e-Ishq gave me an idea about how the industry functions, and right now, I am taking baby steps towards understanding it better. I’ve been also reading scripts and meeting [more] people. You don’t become successful overnight; it takes time,” he says.

Asked about the status of his second film Babbu Ki Jawaani, which is yet to see the light of the day, a rather upset Karan says, “We had almost finished shooting the film. The reason why it’s still not getting released, is unknown to me. I have a feeling that it might not release.”

He adds, “More than the success or failure [of a film], it feels bad because after you invest so much time, you want your efforts to be seen. But then, not everything is in your hands.” The film, which also stars Rhea Chakraborty was shot almost two year back.

“The experience of facing my fears on my last [reality] show helped me grow as a person, so, I completely enjoyed being a part of it. And yes, I have been doing a lot of non-fiction but that doesn’t mean I am not open to doing fiction shows,” says the actor, adding, “But nobody has offered me anything good enough. And on the other hand, I have been getting good offers as far as hosting and non-fiction shows are concerned. [Also] I have been choosy of late, because I want to be associated with work that will add value to my art and life.”
