Bollywood fans have a new reason to be happy. While there are innumerous TV channels flooded with the latest filmy gossip, a new channel, UTV Stars (to be launched next month by the channel UTV), will focus on celebrities interacting with fans, profiles of superstars, Bollywood trade analysis and music shows.

Talking about the new venture, the founder-director of UTV, Zarina Mehta, says, “There’s a dearth of great Bollywood channels but they are mostly oriented towards gossip. Our channel and its programming will be different. The prime idea is to produce high on content and entertaining shows in-house.”

The channel aims to cater to all the various types of movie buffs and bring Bollywood celebrities closer to their fans.
